RAF Air Defence Radar Museum

Museum

If you’re visiting Norwich and are seeking history, then this museum should be at the top of your list, next to the Norwich Cathedral.

Guided tours here are available and they are highly recommended. Reason being for this is that the guide tours are actual ex RAF people, therefore they’re highly knowledgeable & informative.

The tour is not all talk so you don’t have to worry about that, throughout your tour you will be guided through three rooms and each visitor will get to see the work of the station, Battle of Britain, RAF Neatishead and the Cold War.

The tour lasts for an hour and then you’re able to roam around on your own and take a further look at things that might have interested you throughout your tour.

This museum like any other, is the perfect place to visit for a rainy day activity. If you’re ever fascinated about seeing rare items, then you will love this place. Possibly not the most interesting activity for young children, yet they are welcome.

All of the staff are volunteers and are extremely enthusiastic to show you not just the historical side, but why the equipment was so important.
